What is Hughes's message about group pressure in "Salvation”?
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

Langston Hughes' message about group pressure in "Salvation" is that B. It can cause people to make decisions they could later regret.

Explanation:

Langston Hughes told his story about how he attended a church revival meeting with his aunt when he was 12 years old.

In his memoir, he recalls going for that revival full of faith about God but leaving the place doubting God.

He felt pressured by his aunt to receive salvation at that revival but ends up lying about his feelings and loses faith in God. He was the last person that was "waiting to be saved" and so he lied because of group pressure so as not to "hold up the procession"

Which of the following is a dependent clause?
Rudik [331]

Answer:

C. after they went shopping at the mall is the dependent clause.

Explanation:

A dependent clause is defined as a group of words that contain a subject and a verb. They also don't express a complete thought and can't stand alone.

Option A doesn't have a subject or a verb, Option B doesn't have a subject, and Option D expresses a complete thought.

Therefore, C. is the correct answer.

Hope this helps! :D

Write a story when you are trapped in a deserted island with the things in your school bag
lyudmila [28]

Hello!

As much as I would love to help you, this is a project where no one can help you. You have to come up with your own answer. Writing is generally about expressing your thoughts based off of the information given. However, I can give you a few pointers to writing a successful story!

1) In this circumstance, you don't want to give facts, but rather your opinion of something/ experience. The best way to do this is to.....

 • Think about an adventure(s) that you have had with your family in the past. It might give you some inspiration.

2) Next, if you are allowed to get ideas, pick some sources, go through all of them, labeling anything mentioning the given topic. (like a detective!). I highly recommend using sticky notes. Maybe try a survival/ survival tips book?

3) Then read through everything that you labeled and write down key ideas and themes throughout your sources that you want to include in your story.

4) Then, just write down anything that comes to mind about the topic. You can edit later.

5) Make sure you do it in one sitting, so that you don't disrupt your train of thought.

6) Don't be afraid to get creative! That is what will make your story stand out!

Good luck! I wish you all the best on your project! Hope it goes well, and I hope I was able to help in some way. One of the best things to do when you are overwhelmed is to just sit down and write. That way you have something to work with, then you can edit accordingly.

By the way, when you finish, you can post another question or a response and I can help you edit it if you would like? Two minds are better than one!

Maru [420]
The lines that show that tragedy was brought not only to the two families but also to other families in Verona are: And I for winking at your discords too
Have lost a brace of kinsmen: all are punish'd. The word that involves the other families in Verona is the pronoun "all", showing that the tragedy also departed upon them.

The correct answer is option four. Sophie supports her interpretation that Queen Elizabeth is annoyed by quoting what she has said or written. As a result, Sophie demonstrates evidence that backs her assumption - nothing less that Elizabeth's actual words.
