Answer:

Tan uses a nonstandard version of english with her husband because it is the language she spoke as a child and it expresses intimacy.

Explanation:

Growing up in a multilingual household or speaking English as a second language can lead to interesting speech patterns. Even when we are adults and realize that certain phrases or idioms are not grammatically correct, we often use them anyway because of the fond memories they bring or because of the contexts or people we associate them with.

What are Good and Evil anyway? How do you know? How is this related to Blake's ideas of Reason/Energy?
jonny [76]

William Blake was a poet who used to write poetry mostly romantic poems based on marriage, love, and attraction.

In one of his poem, ‘The Marriage of Hell and Heaven’ he stated that ‘Attraction and Repulsion, Reason and Energy, Love and Hate are necessary to Human existence.’ By this he meant that there can’t just be one force working on this universe. If there’s hate, there’s also going to be hate.

He describe Good as Heaven and Evil as Hell. Heaven and hell is simply the acts of good doings and wrong doings.

1. How does this poem fit the ballad form? Cite evidence from the text to support your response.
3241004551 [841]

1. A ballad is a style of verse - usually a musical narrative. The poem "Because I could not stop for Death," by Emily Dickinson, fits into this category due to the combination of iambic meter lines of three and four feet or stressed syllables, which create a hymn-like poem. For example:

Because I could not stop for Death (4 sylables)

He kindly stopped for me (3 syllables)

The Carriage held but just Ourselves (4 syllables)

And Immortality.  (3 syllables)

2. The speaker has a flirting relationship with the character Death, which takes the shape of a courteous admirer. She feels very comfortable with him, although she is undressed, since the date with Death took her by surprise that morning.
