To construct a perpendicular bisector of a line secment AB. Place a compass at the center of line AB and make an arc at both ends of line AB. Place the compass at each of the arcs you made at both ends of AB and make a mark above and below line AB. Join the points of intersection of both arcs above and both arcs below line AB. That is the perpendicular bisector of line AB.
