Add the 3 item totals, then divide that number by 100, then, take that number and multiply by 9 (this gets the tax total). then you are going to want to add the total of the 3 items, and the tax amount, and you have your answer. do this with all the peoples items :)

The easiest way to do this would be to add up the total cost of each person's meal (for example, in the first one you would do $3.79 + $9.89 + $5.99 = $19.69).

Then turn the percentage into a decimal (put a decimal point after the number, so for example 9.0% and then move the decimal point to place to the left to turn it into a decimal. So 9% become 0.09).

Lastly, times the total amount you got from the first part to the decimal you got in the second part ($19.69 x 0.09 = 1.7703, which you rounds to $1.77)

So your tip is $1.77 for the first person. Repeat this process for each one and you can't fail, cheers!

Find the perimeter of the parallelogram with these vertices.
blondinia [14]

Check the picture below.

so we can say that two sides are "4" each in length, since opposite sides are equal, let's find how long the slanted sides are.

~~~~~~~~~~~~\textit{distance between 2 points} \\\\ (\stackrel{x_1}{-4}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{2})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{3}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{5})\qquad \qquad d = \sqrt{( x_2- x_1)^2 + ( y_2- y_1)^2} \\\\\\ d=\sqrt{[3 - (-4)]^2 + [5 - 2]^2}\implies d=\sqrt{(3+4)^2+3^2} \\\\\\ d=\sqrt{49+9}\implies d=\sqrt{58} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{\Large Perimeter}}{4~~ + ~~4~~ + ~~\sqrt{58}~~ + ~~\sqrt{58}\implies 8+2\sqrt{58}}
What value of x satisfies
LenaWriter [7]
Answer:
See explanation
Step-by-step explanation:
The given trigonometric equation is cos(90-x)=-\frac{\sqrt{3} }{3}.
We take the inverse cosine of both sides to get:
90-x=cos^{-1}(-\frac{\sqrt{3} }{3})
90-x=125
x=125-90
x=-35\degree=325\degree to the nearest degree
None of the options satisfies the given equation.
But if the question is actually;
cos(90-x)=-\frac{\sqrt{3} }{2}
Then;
90-x=\cos^{-1}(-\frac{\sqrt{3} }{2}).
90-x=210.
90-x=210.
x=-120\degree.
Or
x=360-120=240\degree.
In this case the answer will be B
Ms. Thomas is taking her friends to see a comedy show. The parking fee was $ 35 and the cost of each ticket for the show was $ 4
pychu [463]
1. An expression that will represent the amount of money that Ms. Thomas will spend is <u>p + 45n - c.</u>
2. The amount of money that Ms. Thomas will spend on the comedy tickets for herself and her 2 friends is <u>$155</u>.
<h3>What is a mathematical expression?</h3>
A mathematical expression is a statement that involves two or more variables that require some mathematical operations.
Most commonly, a mathematical expression contains numbers, variables, and operators, which show a value after the mathematical operations.
<h3>Data and Calculations:</h3>
Parking fee = $35
Ticket fee per person = $45
The number of people on the show = 3 (Ms. Thomas and her two friends)
Coupon = $15
Amount of money spent = p + 45n - c
where p = parking fee, n = number of visitors, and c = coupon received.
= 35 + 45 x 3 - 15
= $155
