<u>Answer:</u>

<em>"B. Gleick, James. Chaos: Making a New Science. Penguin, 1987" </em>is the choice that displays proper MLA documentation for a book with only one author.

<u>Explanation:</u>

For MLA citation, start with the "author's last name, first name" (and middle initial, if applicable). Then write the "title" of the text (if it's a larger content, it should be in italics and if it's shorter, then it should be encased in quotation marks). Finally, write the publisher's name and the year in which it was published .

The correct answer is B.

For MLA citation, you always start with the author's last name, comma, first name (and middle initial, if applicable). Then you write the title of the text (if it's a larger work, like a novel, it should be in italics; if it's shorter, like an article, it should be encased in quotation marks). Finally, write the publisher's name, comma, and the year in which it was published.
