Answer:

The answer to your question is the letter C

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

sec Ф = 9/2

tan Ф = ?

To solve this problem use trigonometric functions.

1.- The first condition is that the angle must be in the fourth quadrangle

(270° < Ф < 360°).

2.- Write the trigonometric function sec.

           sec Ф = hypotenuse / adjacent side   and sec Ф = 9/2

then, hypotenuse = 9   adjacent side = 2

3.- Use the Pythagorean theorem to find the adjacent side.

           Hypotenuse² = Opposite side² + Adjacent side²

-Solve for Opposite side

            Opposite side² = Hypotenuse² - Adjacent side sie²

-Substitution

            Opposite side² = 9² - 2²

-Simplification

            Opposite side² = 81 - 4

            Opposite side² = 77

            Opposite side = √77

4.- Find the tan Ф

             tan Ф = Opposite side/Adjacent side

-Substitution

             tanФ = -√77 / 2    It is negative because in the fourth quadrangle

                                           tan is negative.

PLAEASE HELP ME <br>If the equation of a line is 2y+3x=3, what is the y intercept of the line?
Alja [10]

Answer:

3/2

Step-by-step explanation:

2y+3x=3

This represents a linear equation and the format for a linear equation is

y = mx+b

m = slope

b= y-intercept

we have to subtract 3x from both sides to make this the y=mx+b form

2y=-3x+3

and divide both sides by 2

y = (-3x+3)/2

3/2 or 1.5 is the y-intercept

the constant of a linear equation (or 3) is the y-intercept, if there is no constant then the y-intercept is 0

A triangle has two sides that measure 4ft and 3ft. Which could be the measure of the third side?
Nezavi [6.7K]
The measure of the third side must be less than the sum of the other two. That property is valid for all triangles.

For this question, call x the measure of the third side. So you must have

x < 4 + 3

x < 7 ft

The only option that satisfies the condition above is

option A) 5 ft.

I hope this helps. =)
