I can use the Distance Formula to find the lengths of the each of the sides of the triangle, these lengths being the distances between the pairs of points. Then I can plus these distances into the Theorem to see if this triangle is a right triangle

17) Candy brought 30 cookies to a party. List all the ways she can arrange them on a plate in equal rows.
Phantasy [73]

Answer:Candy can arrange in 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15 ways

2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 number of people can sit at each table

Solution:

Candy brought 30 cookies to a party. List all the ways she can arrange them on a plate in equal rows.

Given that Candy brought 30 cookies to party

She has to arrange the ways she can arrange them on plate in equal rows

We have to list the factors of 30

factors of 30 = 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15

So she can arrange in 8 ways

Possible arrangement are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15 rows

David is setting up tables for 24 people at the party. The same number of people will sit at each table, and no one will sit alone. How many people can sit at each table? List all possibilities.

Fcators of 24 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12

Here we can eliminate 1 since given that no one will sit alone

Thus 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 number of people can sit at each table

These triangles are scaled copies of each other.
Mariana [72]

Answer:

a. 4

b. 1/4

c. 16

d. 1/9

e. 4/9

f. 9/16

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of the areas is the square of the ratio of the lengths of the sides.

a. Triangles G and F

Select a side in triangle G and the corresponding side in triangle F:

side in F: 10

corresponding side in G: 5

ratio of lengths of F to G = 10/5 = 2

ratio of areas of G to F: (2)^2 = 4

b. Triangles G and B

Select a side in triangle G and the corresponding side in triangle B:

side in G: 5

corresponding side in B: 5/2

ratio of lengths of B to G = (5/2)/5 = 1/2

ratio of areas of B to G: (1/2)^2 = 1/4

c. Triangles B and F

Select a side in triangle B and the corresponding side in triangle F:

side in B: 5/2

corresponding side in F: 10

ratio of lengths of F to B = 10/(5/2) = 4

ratio of areas of F to B: (4)^2 = 16

Do the same for the other 3 pairs of triangles.

The answers are:

d. 1/9

e. 4/9

f. 9/16

Triangle ABC has vertices at A(−3, 4), B(4, −2), C(8, 3). The triangle translates 2 units up and 1 unit right. Which rule repres
Nataly [62]

Answer:

The translation statement is given by:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x+1,y+2)

After the translation, the coordinates of vertex A is (-2,6).

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Vertices of a triangle ABC are:

A(−3, 4), B(4, −2), C(8, 3)

The triangle is translated 2 units up and 1 unit right.

To find the co-ordinates of point A after translation.

Translation rules.

For shift of c units up, the translation is given as:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x,y+c)

For shift of k units right, the translation is given as:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x+k,y)

So, it says the triangles is translated 2 units up and 1 unit right.

The translation statement is given by:

(x,y)\rightarrow (x+1,y+2)

So, co-ordinates of point A after translation is given by :

(-3,4)\rightarrow (-3+1,4+2)=(-2,6)

After the translation, the coordinates of vertex A is (-2,6).

Given a 5 liter jar and a 3 liter jar and a unlimited supply of water, how do you measure out 4 liter exactly
andre [41]

Answer:

Given:

5 liter Jar

3 liter jar

Unlimited supply of water.

To measure out 4 liters exactly.

Steps to be carries out to measure out 4 liters of water exactly.

Water content: 3 liter jar = Empty , 5 liter jar = Empty

1) Fill the 3 liter jar completely with water.

3 liter jar = 3 liter , 5 liter jar = Empty

2) Empty the filled 3 liter jar of water by pouring it out into 5 liter jar.

Water content: 3 liter jar = Empty , 5 liter jar = 3 liter

3) Again fill the empty 3 liter jar completely.

Water content: 3 liter jar = 3 liter , 5 liter jar = 3 liter

4) Pour water from 3 liter jar into 5 liter jar until it is completely filled.

Water content: 3 liter jar = 1 liter , 5 liter jar = 5 liter

5) Empty the 5 liter jar completely.

Water content: 3 liter jar = 1 liter , 5 liter jar = Empty

6) Empty the 3 liter jar by pouring the water into 5 liter jar.

Water content: 3 liter jar = Empty , 5 liter jar = 1 liter

7) Fill the 3 liter jar completely with water.

Water content: 3 liter jar = 3 liter , 5 liter jar = 1 liter

8) Empty the 3 liter jar by pouring it into 5 liter jar.

Water content: 3 liter jar = Empty , 5 liter jar = 4 liter

Now, we have exactly 4 liters of water in the 5 liter jar.
