51+ 0.13• miles driven (plan 1)
40+ 0.18• miles driven (plan 2)

If you drive 1 mile than plan 2 is better
51+ 0.13= 51.13
40+0.18= 40.18

The difference between the two initial fees is 51-40 = $11
With each mile driven plan 2 closes the difference gap by 0.18-0.13= $0.05
So after 11/0.05= 220 miles the better plan will be plan 1

If you drive 220 miles the plans cost is equal

51+ 0.13•220= $79.6
40+ 0.18•220= $79.6

Plan2 cheaper <220 miles < Plan1 cheaper

Why does the number 17 not belong with 26, 44, & 65
kkurt [141]

17 is a prime number whereas 26,44 and 65 are the composite numbers.

Step-by-step explanation:

The number 17 does not belong with 26, 44 and 65.

Here 26 is divisible by 2 and 13.

44 is divisible by 2, 4 and 11.

65 is divisible by 5 and 13

But 17 is divisible by 1 and itself, that is it's a prime number, whereas the other numbers 26, 44 and 65 is divided by 1, itself and also by other numbers.

So 17 is a prime number whereas the 65, 26 and 44 are composite numbers.

What is the equation of a line that is perpendicular to y=0.25x-7 and passes through the point -6,8
Olenka [21]

Answer:

The equation ls: y = -4x - 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the point (-6, 8)

Given the line y = .25x - 7

Use a fraction:

y = 1/4x - 7

The slope is 1/4 (or .25)

The slope of a perpendicular line is the negative inverse or -4.

Use the point slope form and substitute:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 8 = -4(x - (-6))

y - 8 = -4x - 24

y = -4x - 16

Proof:

f(-6) = -4(-6) - 16

= 24 - 16

= 8, giving (-6, 8)
