At a zoo, the lion pen has a ring-shaped sidewalk around it. The other edge of the sidewalk is a circle with a radius of 11 m. T
Vikentia [17]
Diameter = 2r
6 = 2r r = 3 for the radius of the flowerbed
If we were to include the sidewalk around the bed, the diameter would stretch out another meter in both directions, meaning adding 2 meters to the diameter making the new diameter 6 + 2 = 8 and 8/2 = 4 so 4 = radius of the circle including the sidewalk. Find the area of the big circle and subtract the area of the smaller circle to find the area of the sidewalk.
Small circle = pi*3 squared.

Complete the following conversions. i) 1 m2 = a cm2 ii) 1 cm2 = b mm2 iii) 1 km2 = c m2
Fofino [41]

The values that complete the conversions are

a = 10000

b = 100

c = 1000000

Conversion of units

From the question, we are to complete the given conversions

i)

1 m² = a cm²

NOTE: 1 m² = 10000 cm²

∴ a = 10000

ii)

1 cm² = b mm²

NOTE: 1 cm² = 100 mm²

∴ b = 100

iii)

1 km² = c m²

NOTE: 1 km² = 1000000 m²

∴ c = 1000000

Hence, the values that complete the conversions are

a = 10000

b = 100

c = 1000000
