<span>Starting at 2:15

1 Hour would be 3:15pm
5 Hour would be 7:15pm
8 Hour would be 10:15pm
10 Hour would be 12:15pm

Since 10 Hours gets us too far over our final time we'll use 9 hours

9 Hours gets us to 11:15pm

adding 30 minutes gets us to 11:45 pm
and adding 5 more minutes gets us to our final time of 11:50pm

All in all it takes 9 Hours 35 Minutes from 2:15 pm to 11:50 pm

The second and fourth selections represent a translation to the right by 1 unit. The fourth selection represents a vertical reflection about the x-axis. The picture shown can be considered to be a right translation and a vertical reflection of \sqrt[3]{x}.

What is the equation
MAVERICK [17]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  y = -3x -1

Step-by-step explanation:

We can write the equation in slope-intercept form if we know the slope and the y-intercept.

The slope is ...

  m = "rise"/"run" = (change in y)/(change in x)

We can see that the line passes through grid intersections at (x, y) = (0, -1) and at (1, -4). Between these two points, the change in y is (-4 -(-1)) = -3, and the change in x is (1 -0) = 1. Then the slope is ...

  m = -3/1 = -3

One of the points we just used is the point where the line crosses the y-axis, at the y-intercept of -1. So, with slope -3 and y-intercept -1, the equation of the line is ...

  y = mx +b . . . . . . slope m and y-intercept b

  y = -3x -1
