The body won’t be able to function properly without a strong truck. Enhancing the truck mobility with rotational exercise like this can provide body fitness. It can also provide sport performance benefit.

Truck rotation is the kind of movement which involves thoracic, lumbar vertebrate and muscles which include

  • Internal oblique – which helps to turn and rotate the trunk
  • External oblique – this is the side abs that helps in rotating the trunk
  • Rectus abdominis – it flexes the spine and torso
  • Lumbar multifidus- it helps to stabilize the spine
  • Transverse abdominis- it helps to stabilize both the pelvis and low back.

Truck rotation is an exercise that is mostly used in sporting activities. It is also used during individual functioning daily activities. Truck rotation improves strength, function as well as the mobility of the truck muscles.

How to perform truck rotation safely and effectively  

  • You have start in a supine position on a mat.
  • Bent your knees and feet flat on the floor
  • Your upper body must be maintained firmly against the floor
  • Stretch out your arms and press into the floor, this will help you to balance during the movement.
  • Tighten the abdominal muscles
  • Then, you should rotate your knees to one side of the control and working while you move. This will shift your feet, but you have to remain on the floor
  • You have to hold the position for 3 to 5secs
  • Tighten your abdominal muscles and move your legs to the opposite side.
  • Then you have to hold for about 3 to 5 secs
  • You must stay focus and maintain normal breathing throughout the exercise.
