It is false.

It is an exercise used in improving flexibility, stability and core strength and mobility of the spine. This training can be performed in many ways that allowed an individual to progress, challenge and perform what is suitable or work best for you.

Further Explanation

The trunk is very essential component of any motion that the body performs. The truck muscles aid movement in individual, maintain body balance and give stability to the body. The body won’t be able to function properly without a strong truck. Enhancing the truck mobility with rotational exercise like this can provide body fitness. It can also provide sport performance benefit.

Truck rotation is the kind of movement which involves thoracic, lumbar vertebrate and muscles which include

  • Internal oblique – which helps to turn and rotate the trunk
  • External oblique – this is the side abs that helps in rotating the trunk
  • Rectus abdominis – it flexes the spine and torso
  • Lumbar multifidus- it helps to stabilize the spine
  • Transverse abdominis- it helps to stabilize both the pelvis and low back.

Truck rotation is an exercise that is mostly used in sporting activities. It is also used during individual functioning daily activities. Truck rotation improves strength, function as well as the mobility of the truck muscles.

How to perform truck rotation safely and effectively

  • You have start in a supine position on a mat.
  • Bent your knees and feet flat on the floor
  • Your upper body must be maintained firmly against the floor
  • Stretch out your arms and press into the floor, this will help you to balance during the movement.
  • Tighten the abdominal muscles
  • Then, you should rotate your knees to one side of the control and working while you move. This will shift your feet, but you have to remain on the floor
  • You have to hold the position for 3 to 5secs
  • Tighten your abdominal muscles and move your legs to the opposite side.
  • Then you have to hold for about 3 to 5 secs
  • You must stay focus and maintain normal breathing throughout the exercise.

The statement "the trunk rotation is a common static flexibility assessment" is false.

Further Explanation:

The trunk flexion is a kind of static flexibility assessment. Trunk rotation is an exercise that can improve the motility of the spine, stability, flexibility and improve the core strength. The trunk being the vital part for any motion in the body is the most crucial portion of the body for walking, stability and balancing. The normal body daily functioning is not possible with a weak trunk. Therefore, it becomes a very important aspect to improve the trunk mobility and strength.

Trunk rotation exercises can affect and strengthen the following muscles:

  1. Transversus abdominis: The pelvis and lower back is stabilized by this muscle.
  2. Lumber multifidus: The spine stabilized by this muscle.
  3. Rectus abdominis: This muscle is responsible for the development of flexes the torso and the spine.
  4. External oblique: The side abs that help in the trunk rotation is maintained by this muscle.
  5. Internal oblique: The rotation of the trunk along with the turning of the trunk is maintained by this muscle.

The exhalation followed by rotation of the torso in slow motion at a certain direction is typically a trunk flexion. The flexibility of a person determined the degree at which the rotation of the torso can occur.
