Answer: It will cost $16 to buy  5 subway tickets and 2 express bus tickets this week.

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, to answeer this question we have to write a system of equations with the information given:

6x + 4y =24

3x + 7y =27

Where :

x = price of a subway ticket

y = price of a express bus ticket

Solving by substitution:

6x + 4y =24

6x = 24 -4y

x = (24 -4y)/6

x = 4 -2/3 y

Replacing the value of "x" in the other equation:

3x + 7y =27

3 ( 4 -2/3 y) + 7y =27

12 - 2y +7y =27

-2y + 7y =27 -12

5y = 15

y = 3

Finally, replacing the valu of "y" in the first equation:

6x + 4y =24

6x + 4 (3) =24

6x +12 =24

6x = 24-12

6x = 12

x = 12/6 = 2

So, the values of the individual tickets are:

x = price of a subway ticket = $2

y = price of a express bus ticket =$3

how much will it cost you to buy 5 subway tickets and 2 express bus tickets this week?

To answer this part we simply have to multiply the number of each tickets by its price, and add the results.

5 ($2) + 2 ($3) = $10 + $6 = $16

the Royal fruit company produces two types of fruit drinks. The first type is 20% pure fruit juice, and the second type is a 45%
AlexFokin [52]

We know that 20% of the first type of juice is pure fruit juice and 45% of second type of juice is pure fruit juice.

Now we have to make 30 pints of a mixture that is 35% pure.

Let x be the number of pints of first type of juice and y be the number of pints of second type of juice.

So, x+y=30 (Equation 1)

Since, 20% of x + 45% of y = 35.3% of 30

\frac{x}{5}+\frac{9y}{20}=10.5 (Equation 2)

Solving equations 1 and 2,

we get y=18 and x=12.

So, 12 pints of first type of juice and 18 pints of second type of juice are used.

Based on census data, the population of Freedonia is modeled by the function P ( t ) = 325 t^2 + 28547 people, where t represent
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

dP/dt = 650t = 650(2 ) = 1,300 people/year

The rate of increasing of population at the end of the year 1992 is 1,300 people/year

Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

Population function as;

P(t) =325 t^2 + 28547

The rate of change of the population dP/dt at any given time can be given as;

Rate = change in population/change in time = dP/dt

dP/dt = 2×325t = 650t

Therefore, after 1992;

t = 1992-1990 = 2years

dP/dt = 650t = 650(2 ) = 1,300 people/year

The rate of increasing of population at the end of the year 1992 is 1,300 people/year
