The length of the segment AD is 28 cm. The distance between the midpoints of segments AB and CD is 16 cm. Find the length of the
erastovalidia [21]

Given=

length of the segment AD is 28 cm

distance between the midpoints of segments AB and CD is 16 cm

find out length of BC

To proof

AD = 28 cm

let the midpoint of the AB is E.

let the midpoint of the CD is F.

E & F are the midpoints i.e these points divide AB & CD in two equal parts.

Let BC = z

Let AE = EB = x     ( E is midpoint)

Let CF = FD = y      (F is midpoint)

the equation becomes

2x + 2y + z = 28

x + y + z = 16

mulitipy above equation by 2

we  get

2x + 2y + 2z = 32

thus solving the equations

2x + 2y + 2z = 32

2x + 2y + z = 28

we get

z = 4 cm

i.e BC = 4 cm

Hence proved

The bottom shape is a square prism with base edges of 5 feet and a height of 15 feet. What is the volume of the composite figure
alina1380 [7]
If the base of the prism is five an all sides with a height of 15 the volume would be  375 for the prism

if the pyramid has a base width and length of five, like the prism, it would have a volume of 25

the whole shape/construct together has a volume of 400ft^3

What is the slope of a line parallel to the line 4x-7y=-14?
Sav [38]

We have 7y = 4x + 14;

Then, y = (4/7)x + 2;

The slope of this line is 4/7;

Because another line is parallel with the first one, the chosen slope is 4/7.
