2016 breaks down into 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 7, which is the same as 2<span>5 </span>x 3<span>2 </span>x 7

When I saw this I thought that I would leave 7 as it is, and then try to make 2<span>5 </span>and 3<span>2 </span>(32 and 9) out of (10 9 8) and (6 5 4 3 2 1).

If this worked I’d have (10 9 8) x 7 x (6 5 4 3 2 1) = 2016

I quickly noticed that 10 – 9 + 8 = 9. And then playing around that

(6x5) - 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 32.

So I had a solution: (10 – 9 + 8) x 7 x ((6x5) – 4 + 3 + 2 + 1) = 2016

It is a pretty dull solution though. The most elegant has to be this one, tweeted earlier by James Annan (and subsequently by others):

<span>(10 x 9 x 8 x 7 x 6)/(5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1) = 2016</span>

Answer:

15) diagonals are congruent in rectangles and squares; looks like a square

16) SW = 31

Step-by-step explanation:

since diagonals are congruent in rectangles then 'a+30' equals '2a+29'

a + 30 = 2a + 29

30 = a + 29

a = 1

SW = WU = TW = WV

The model represents x2 â€" 9x 14. An algebra tile configuration showing only the Product spot. 24 tiles are in the Product spot
snow_lady [41]

The factors of the given model are (x+2) and (x+7)

Given the representation of the model expressed as;

x^2+9x+14

To get the factors, we will factorize the given quadratic function as shown:

g(x) = x^2+2x+7x+14

Group the functions to have;

g(x) = (x^2+2x) + (7x+14)\\

Factor out the GCF from both parenthesis:

g(x) = x(x+2)+7(x+2)\\g(x)=(x+2)(x+7)

Hence the factors of the given model are (x+2) and (x+7)

From a group of 8 people, including George and Nina, 3 people are to be selected at random to work on a certain project. What is
cestrela7 [59]

Answer:\frac{15}{56}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to select george but not nina with two other people

No. of ways  selecting 2 two people knowing Geroge will be the third one is

^6C_2 (beacuse we have to exclude Nina)

And total no of ways of selecting 3 people out of 8 people is ^8C_3

Therefore the required Probability is \frac{^6C_{2}}{^8C_{3}}

=\frac{15}{56}
