Take the role of an immigrant in 1840. Would you decide to settle in the North or the South? Describe the conditions in both sections of the country that led to your decision.

I'd settle in the North, because of slavery. The conditions would be cold, but I wouldn't mind because at least i'm not a slave.<span />

My reason on this question above would be the following:

I would not settle in the North. Up north contain's lower temperature which mean's it would be more colder. I would settle more in the south to feel more comfortable.
