<span>
u need two equations.</span><span>x + y = 125
0.60x + 0.30y = (0.36)(125)</span>

<span /><span>x + y = 125
0.60x + 0.30y = 45</span>

<span>solve for a variable in the first equation
y = 125 - x</span>

<span>plug into the second equation
0.60x + 0.30(125 - x) = 45
0.60x + 37.5 - 0.30x= 45
0.30x + 37.5 = 45
0.30x = 7.5
x = 25</span>

<span>plug the answer for x into the first equation
25 + y = 125
y = 100</span>

Norma-Jean [14]

Choosing the first tile:

At first, there are 7 tiles.

You are interested in choosing a 5. There is only one tile with a 5.

p(5) = 1/7

Choosing the second tile:

After the 5 has been taken, now there are 6 tiles left.

Only one tile has the number 6.

p(6) = 1/6

The overall probability of choosing a 6 after a 5 is the product of the individual probabilities:

p( 5 then 6) = 1/7 * 1/6 = 1/42

Answer: The probability of choosing a 5 and then a 6 is 1/42

Find the height of a trapezoid if the bases have lengths of 6 and 17 and the area of the trapezoid is 46 square units.
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

4 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The area (A) of a trapezoid is calculated using the formula

A = \frac{1}{2} h(a + b)

where h is the height and a, b the bases

here A = 46, a = 6 and b = 17, hence

46 = \frac{1}{2} h(6 + 17) ( multiply both sides by 2 )

92 = h(23) ← divide both sides by 23 )

h = \frac{92}{23} = 4 units
