THERE ARE 77 DVDS ON THE SALES RACK.

So basically, it says that there are, "23 comedies, 13 dramas, 10 science fiction movies, and 31 action movies." That's all there is on the DVD sales rack. And now, they're asking how many there are altogether, basically, by asking about how many DVDs there are in all. Not how many comedies. Not how many horror movies. And not just comedy and horror movies combined. DVDS and all. This would imply that we would have to add that all together.

23 + 13 = 36
36 + 10 = 46
46 + 31 = 77

And so there's your answer. There are 77 DVDS on the sales rack.

AleksandrR [38]
To write your equation you need to find out what amount of money Jamie makes per hour. To do this take $62.50 and divide it by 5. The answer is $12.50 per hour.

Please see step 1 in the attached work to see the equation that is represented. Then substitute in 11 hours for h to find the total amount of money made. See part 2 in the attached work. The answer is $137.50 for working 11 hours.

For a Saturday matinee, adult tickets cost $8.50 and kids under 12 pay only $7.00. If 80 tickets are sold for a total
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

 • 30 adult tickets,
 • 50 kids tickets

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

 • Cost of adult ticket = $8.50
 • Cost of kids ticket = $7.00
 • Number of tickets = 80
 • Total cost = $605

Let the adult ticket be a and kids be k

We got equations

 • a + k = 80
 • 8.5a + 7k = 605

From the first equation we get

 • k = 80 -a

Substituting k in the second equation

 • 8.5a + 7(80 - a) = 605
 • 8.5a - 7a + 560= 605
 • 1.5a = 45
 • a = 45/1.5
 • a = 30

Then finding k

 • k = 80 - 30 = 50
