A----------D----------C

AD = 2x + 6
DC = 4x - 7

the midpoint D splits AC into 2 equal parts....therefore, AD = DC

2x + 6 = 4x - 7
2x - 4x = -7 - 6
-2x = - 13
x = -13/-2
x = 6.5

DC = 4x - 7......4(6.5) - 7 = 19 <===
AD = 2x + 6.....2(6.5) + 6 = 19

Based on the data in the two-way table, what is the probability that a person weighs 120 pounds, given that he or she consumes 2
sdas [7]
<span>In the question "Based on the data in the two-way table, what is the probability that a person weighs 120 pounds, given that he or she consumes 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day?" The probability of an event, say A given another event, say B is given by n(A and B) / n(B). Thus the probability that a person weighs 120 pounds, given that he or she consumes 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day is given by number of persons that weigh 120 pounds and consume 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day / number of persons that consume 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day. From the table, the number of persons that weigh 120 pounds and consume 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day is 10 while the number of persons that consume 2,000 to 2,500 calories per day is 110. Therefore, the required probability is 10 / 110 = 1 / 11</span>

Please find which quadratic equation matches the graph with work attached
lesya [120]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Firstly, we know that the function must be negative due to its shape. This means that the answer cannot be B

Next we can use the equation x=\frac{-b}{2a} that is used in order to find the vertex of the parabola.

A)

f(x)=-x^2+6x+7\\a=-1,b=6,c=7\\\\x=\frac{-6}{-2} \\x=3

As the vertex is at x=3 on the graph, this one could be a contender.

C)

f(x)=-x^2+6x-7\\a=-1,b=6, c=-7\\\\x=\frac{-6}{-2} \\\\x=3

This also could be the equation

D)

f(x)=-x^2-6x-7\\\\a=-1, b=-6, c=-7\\\\x=\frac{6}{-2} \\\\x=-3

This rules option D out.

For this last step, we can look at where the zeroes would be for each equation. (These values are irrational, so we cannot look at specific number)

A)

f(x)=-(x^2-6x-7)

As this equation has a negative value for c, this means that one zero must be positive and the other must be negative.

This means that option A can be ruled out

C)

f(x)=-(x^2-6x+7)

As this equation has a positive value for c, this means that both of the zeroes must be positive. This means that it is the only one that fits all of the criteria.
