When you are going to substitute a linear equation, You must factor out a variable like this: (I would be using the first equation since it is easier)

3y - 4 = x

x + 6y = 14

Now you know that x = 3y - 4 you can substitute it for the x value in the second equation like so.

(3y - 4) + 6y = 14

Combine like terms

9y - 4 = 14

9y = 18

y = 2

Now you know what y is equal to 2 you can sub two in one equation to get the value of x: (I will be doing the second equation this time so I don't have to deal with the -x)

x + 6(2) = 14

x + 12 = 14

x = 2

Now we have our solutions

x = 2

y = 2

Answer:

The measures of ∠BOC is 25.4° and that of ∠AOB is 15.8°.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

∠AOC = 31°

∠BOC = 2x+10

∠AOB = 4x-15

As we can seen from the figure that,

∠AOC = ∠AOB + ∠BOC

Put all the values,

31 = 4x-15+2x+10

31 = 6x-15

31+15 = 6x

46 = 6x

x = 7.7

∠BOC = 2(7.7)+10 = 25.4°

∠AOB = 4(7.7)-15 = 15.8°

So, the measures of ∠BOC is 25.4° and that of ∠AOB is 15.8°.

The hours since a person has eaten and the strength of hunger they feel. what is the independent and dependent variable?
Korvikt [17]
The hours are independent, time keeps flowing. but the hunger depends on hours. If time itself stopped, so would all matter, and thus, you would never be hungry.
