If goal post is rectangle shaped then u can see  distance of bc base is 3 times of its sides(distance from top to ground)(imagine aectangle)
So let x be the distance so bc=3x
Perimeter is given now u just put values in a formua of perimeter

The value of Peter's house has risen 20% a year for the last 3 years. If the value of Peter's home 3 years ago was $110,000.00,
IRISSAK [1]
Increase $110,000 by 20% 3 times.

110,000 x 0.2 = 22000
(0.2 is 20% as a decimal, we needed to convert it to multiply it)

So we must add 22000 to 110,000, then take 20% of the new cost, and repeat.

Add them
110,000 + 22000 = 132000

Take 20% of new value
132000 x 0.2 = 26400

Add that
132000 + 26400 = 158400

Take another 20% of that
31680

Add them
158400 + 31680 = 190080

So the value is now $190,080

A much more efficient way to do this would be multiplying 1.2 instead of 0.2, and skipping the adding part, as you already took 100% of it and are adding 20% more.

Hope this helps!

1. Kristen spent $131 on shirts at Target last week. She bought some fancy shirts for
Masja [62]

Answer:

Kristen bought 2 fancy shirts and 5 plain t-shirts.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

Kristen spent $131 on 7 shirts.

Cost of one fancy shirt = $28

Cost of one plain t-shirt = $15

Let,

x be the number of fancy shirts

y be the number of plain t-shirts

x+y = 7       Eqn 1

28x+15y=131    Eqn 2

Multiplying Eqn 1 by 15

15(x+y=7)

15x+15y=105    Eqn 3

Subtracting Eqn 3 from Eqn 2

(28x+15y)-(15x+15y)=131-105

28x+15y-15x+15y=26

13x=26

Dividing both sides by 13

\frac{13x}{13}=\frac{26}{13}\\x=2

Putting x=2 in Eqn 1

2+y=7

y=7-2

y=5

Hence,

Kristen bought 2 fancy shirts and 5 plain t-shirts.

Inez Walks 1.85 mi in 45 minutes , how many miles can she walk in 1 hour?
insens350 [35]

Answer:

She can walk 2.46 repeating miles in 1 hour

Step-by-step explanation:

We can write a proportion to solve this problem.  Write the number of miles on top and the time  in minutes on the bottom.  We know 1 hour is 60 minutes.

1.85 miles                   x miles

-------------------  = ----------------------

45 miles                  60 minutes

Using cross products

1.85 * 60 = 45x

Divide each side by 45

1.85*60/45 = 45x/45

2.466666666 =x

She can walk 2.46 repeating miles in 1 hour
