The Ottawa nation leader was called "Pontiac" this gives the war its name "The Pontiacs War", a confederacy of native americans were dissatisfied with the British policies in the Great Lakes, this made Pontiac lead its army of native americans to the fort of Detroit in order to take the supplies and weaponery that the British had there and then attack other forts that were located on former French land, as they couldn´t actually take any fort they began a siege with several forts that was finally defeated in 1766 when the British sent extra troops and re-inforcements and the French didn´t want to ally with the indians to recover their lands.
