Describe mr. Summers based on his responsibilities and the way that others react to him
Vikentia [17]

The narrator informs us that other people feel sorry for Mr. Summers because "he had no children and his wife was a scold." They probably also feel sorry for him because he has to perform the lottery. When the lottery begins, Mr. Summers asks for help, and two men hesitate. They acknowledge that they "have to" endure the lottery and participate, but they want to stay as far from it as possible. The rest of the text is in the attachment. However, in case you need a nonplagiazed text, better check it at Primewritings.

Read the excerpt from "Raymond's Run." So they just stand there and Gretchen shifts from one leg to the other and so do they. Th
Blababa [14]

Based on this excerpt the reader can conclude that the two girls are not friends. They seem to be in conflict with each other. Gretchen's body language, "hand on her hips", and her actions, "looking me up and down", show that Gretchen is sizing up her opponent. However, Gretchen also seems a little hesitant to engage the speaker because she does not say anything. The speaker also does not engage with Gretchen, instead letting Gretchen circle around her. There does not seem to be hatred between the girls, but they certainly are not warm and fuzzy.
