The pressure in an engine cylinder increases from 7.6 atm to 13 atm as the gas is compressed from 0.50 L to 0.10 L. What is the

expected cylinder temperature if the gas was initially 15°C? (Remember to express answer to correct significant figures.)

To be able to answer this question, we use our knowledge on the ideal gas equation. We do as follows:

P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2
7.6(0.50) / (273.15 + 15) = 13(0.10) / T2
T2 = 98.58 K = -174.57 degrees Celsius

Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.

Percent of water in Na2CO3 • 10H2O
Troyanec [42]
Hey there!

In order to solve for the percentage of water in the compound, you will first need to find its total molar mass. You can do this by adding up the molar masses of each individual element in the compound. Then, you will divide the mass that you find of the water molecules by the total mass to get the percentage.

→ Na₂CO₃ × 10 H₂O

→ Na₂ = 22.9898 × 2 = 45.9796
→ C = 12.0107
→ O₃ = 15.999 × 3 = 47.997
→ 10 H₂O = 18.015 × 10 = 180.15

Now, just add all of those numbers up for the total molar mass.

→ 45.9796 + 12.0107 + 47.997 + 180.15 = 286.1373

The last step is to divide the molar mass of the 10 water molecules by the total mass.

→ 180.15 ÷ 286.1373 = 0.62959 ≈ 0.63

Your answer will be about 63%.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

when we drop a feather and a stone at the same time from a height the stone reach the faster than a feather
Romashka [77]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

When an a heavy object and a light object are thrown down from the same height, the two objects are expected to hit the ground at the same time since the two objects are both accelerated to the same extent (approximately 10m/s^2) under gravity.

However, due to air resistance, the heavier object reaches the ground first before the lighter object.

Hence, when we drop a feather and a stone at the same time from a height the stone will hit the ground faster than the feather.
