After WWI the US's goals for peace revolved almost entirely on not getting involved in another European War. Wilson attempted to make this a reality by pressuring the US to join the League of Nations.

Simple definition in my own words would be to build relationship with someone, For example social studies or History, the colonists would take helps from the natives which is example of alliance, which is to build a relationship with someone or some people that you are not used to and/or don't know.
