In jump starting a car, first take out your jumper cables, and place both vehicles in “park” or “neutral” and shut off the ignition in both cars. Attach one of the red clips to the positive terminal of the battery and the other red clip on the positive terminal of the other car. Attach the black clips to the negative terminal on the other battery. Attach the remaining black clip to an unpainted metal surface on your car far from the battery. Let the engine of the working vehicle to run and try starting your vehicle.
