Given that:

y < x² + 2

y > x² - 6

Using the graphing technology:

The vertex of first equation will be: (0,2)

As, y is less than the quadratic equation, the outer portion of the parabola will be shaded and the parabola's boundary will be dotted line.

Similarly,

the second equation will vertex, (0,-6), will be a dotted parabola and the inner part of the parabola will be shaded.

Solution to the set of equations will be the common shaded region as shown in the graph attached. There is no common point which intersects both the equations.

24% of students buy there lunch, 190 students bring their lunch from home. How many students are there in total
miv72 [106K]

so we know that 24% of the students buy their lunch at the cafeteria, and 190 students brownbag.

well, 100% - 24% = 76%, so the remainder of the students, the one that is not part of the 24% is 76%, and we know that's 190 of them.

since 190 is 76%, how much is the 24%?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll} amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} 190&76\\ x&24 \end{array}\implies \cfrac{190}{x}=\cfrac{76}{24}\implies 4560=76x \\\\\\ \cfrac{4560}{76}=x\implies 60=x \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{total amount of students}}{190+60\implies 250}

Determine the sum of the arithmetic series: 5+18 +31 +44 + ... 161.
Finger [1]

Answer:

1079

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello,

18-5 = 13

31-18=13

44-31=13

161=5+13*12

So we need to compute

\displaystyle \sum_{k=0}^{k=12} \ {(5+13k)}\\\\=\sum_{k=0}^{k=12} \ {(5)} + 13\sum_{k=1}^{k=12} \ {(k)}\\\\=13*5+13*\dfrac{12*13}{2}\\\\=65+13*13*6\\\\=65+1014\\\\=1079

Thanks

Help!! this is kinda urgent
Elenna [48]

Answer

In decimal form it is 1.25 and in fraction form it 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

There might be and there are other ways but the way I did it is I  converted the fractions to decimals. 1 3/4= 1.75, 1 1/2= 1.5, and 4 1/2 equals 4.5. So I added the time he practiced on Monday and Tuesday and subtracted it from the final hour of the whole entire week and the answer is 1.25 or 1/4
