Aisha wants to make two quilts, each with the same area. The first quilt will be square with sides s feet long. The second quilt

will be a rectangle with a width that is half the length of a side of the square quilt and a length that is 6 feet longer than a side length of the square quilt. Which quadratic equation can be used to find s, the side length of the square quilt? s2 = (s + 6) s2 = (s)(s + 6) s2 = (6s) s2 = (s)(6s)

Answer:

None of the option is true

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the given condition , the length of rectangle = s+6 and width = \frac{s}{2}

Hence the Area will be A=\frac{s}{2}*(s+6)

This area is the same as that of Square, whose area was s^{2}

Hence the Area will be

s^2=\frac{s}{2}*(s+6)

2s^2=s(s+6)\\2s^2=s^2+6s\\s^2-6s=0\\s(s-6)=0\\

s=0 , s=6

I'm pretty sure it should be

s^2=(1/2s)(s+6)

because the width is half of (s) so none of those options are right.

Suppose you have 60 red marbles and 40 blue marbles in a
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:  The required probability is 0.26.

Step-by-step explanation: Given that there are 60 red marbles and 40 blue marbles in a  box 10 marbles are picked without replacement.

We are to find the probability of selecting 6 red marbles.

Since the marbles are picked up without replacement, so it is a situation of combination.

Let S denote the sample space of the experiment of drawing 10 marbles and E denote the event that 6 marbles are red.

So,

n(S)=^{100}C_{10}=\dfrac{100!}{10!(100-10)!}=\dfrac{100!}{10!90!}=17310309456440,\\\\\\n(E)=^{60}C_6\times^{40}C_4=\dfrac{60!}{6!54!}\times\dfrac{40!}{4!36!}=50063860\times91390.

Therefore, the probability of event E is given by

P(E)=\dfrac{n(E)}{n(S)}=\dfrac{50063860\times91390}{17310309456440}=0.26.

Thus, the required probability is 0.26.

HEY THERE! PLEASE ANSWER THE MATH QUESTION IN THE PHOTO! THE CORRECT ANSWER SHALL BE MARKED AS BRAINLIEST AND I WILL FOLLOW YOU(
Annette [7]
6x-1=4x+6

Subtract 4x from each side

2x-1=6

Add 1 to each side

2x=7

Divide by 2 to isolate the variable

6(7/2)-1=21-1=19cm

I hope this is helpful.

Which of the following equations is represented by a graph that is centered at (- 6, - 8) and includes the point (0, - 8) ?
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

C.

Step-by-step explanation:

As the center is (-6, -8) the 2 factors on the left will be (x + 6) and (x + 8) so it's either A or C.

When x = 0 y = -8 so substituting we have:

(0 + 6)^2 + (-8 + 8)^2 = 36 + 0 = 36.

So it's choice C.

Find x and y in the figure
Grace [21]

Answer:

x=10, y=25

Step-by-step explanation:

First, in a trapezoid, the two angles on the same leg (the legs are the opposite sides that are not parallel) add up to 180 degrees. Therefore, 4y as well as (2y+3x) are supplementary. We can write this out as

4y + (2y+3x) = 180

6y+3x = 180

Next, the angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees. Therefore, as the angles 2y, 4y, and (5x-20) make up a triangle, they add up to 180 degrees. We can write this as

4y + 2y + (5x-20) = 180

6y + 5x -20  =180

Our two equations are thus

6y + 5x - 20 = 180

6y + 3x = 180

If we subtract 6y from both sides in each equation, we can say

5x - 20 = 180-6y

3x = 180-6y

Therefore, we can write

5x-20 = 180-5y = 3x

5x-20=3x

subtract 3x from both sides to make all x variables on the same side

2x-20 = 0

add 20 to both sides to isolate the x and its coefficient

2x = 20

divide both sides by 2 to isolate x

x = 10

Therefore,

x = 10

6y + 3x = 180

6y + 30 = 180

subtract 30 from both sides to isolate the y and its coefficient

6y = 150

y = 25
