Since x-1 is a factor than
(X-1) •(someting ) =2x^3 +x^2 -4x+m=0
X-1=0 so x=1
Substitute in the equation
2•1+1-4+m=0
-3+m=0
m=3

Three times the age of Abel is four more than the age of Asare.In three years,the sum of their ages will be 30 years.Find their
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

  • Abel is 7 and Asare is 17 years old

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of Abel is x and age of Asare is y.

Three times the age of Abel is four more than the age of Asare:

  • 3x = y + 4

And

In three years, the sum of their ages will be 30 years:

  • x + 3 + y + 3 = 30

We got two equations.

Simplify and solve by substitution:

  • y = 3x - 4
  • x + y = 24

  • 3x - 4 + x = 24    Substitute y
  • 4x - 4 = 24
  • 4x = 28
  • x = 7

Find y:

  • 17 + y = 24
  • y = 7

find a model for simple harmonic motion if the position at t = 0 is 6, the amplitude is 6 centimeters, and the period is 4 secon
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

y = 6cos(π/2)t

Step-by-step explanation:

Given in the question that,

in a simple harmonic motion in which

at t=0 the amplitude is 6 cm, so the simple harmonic motion will be in cosine form. As in case of sine function, the value of function at t=0 is 0.

And,

the period is given as 4 sec

We know that model equation of simple harmonic motion is

<h3>y = a. cosb(t + c) + d</h3>

here,

a is amplitude

c is Horizontal shift or phase shift

d is Vertical shift

<h3>Step1</h3><h3>Find b</h3>

Period = 2 π / b

4 = 2π / b

b = 2π/4

b = 1π/2

<h3>Step2</h3><h3>Find shifts</h3>

Horizontal and vertical shifts are 0.

So, c = 0 and d = 0

<h3>Step3</h3><h3>Plug those values in the above in the equation</h3>

y = 6cos π/2 (t + 0) + 0

y = 6cos(π/2)t

Anni [7]

Answer:

<u>12,240 meters</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Since sound travels 340 meters per second, you multiply 340 by 36 seconds, and get the answer of <u>12,240 meters.</u>
