Answer:

Number of people chosen in the sixth round is 729

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : For a game - 3 people are chosen in first round then each of three chooses 3 people in the second round ans so on.

To find : How many are chosen the sixth round.

Solution : We know,

In first round 3 people choose ⇒no. of people =3

In second round 3 people individually choose 3 people ⇒no. of people = 9

since the number of people chosen with a constant amount forming a geometric series

Geometric series - A sequence of numbers where each term after the first is found by multiplying the previous one by a fixed also called as common ratio.

General form: a,ar,ar^2,ar^3......

and n-th term of geometric series is a_n=ar^{n-1}

where a - first term , r- common ratio and n-number of term

For the sixth round -  a=3, r=3 , n=6

a_n=ar^{n-1}

a_6=3\times3^{6-1}

a_6=3\times3^{5}

a_6=3^6=729

Therefore, number of people chosen in the sixth round is 729

What is the slope of the line represented by the equation 4x+8y=4
Yuki888 [10]
Rearrange the formula so that its in the form of y=mx+b
so it would be:
8y= -4x + 4
then divide by 8:
y= -4/8 x + 4/8:
Simplify:

y= -1/2x + 1/2

the slope is -1/2

During the first 3 days of the week, Mike read an average of 28 pages per day. During the next 4 days, Mike averaged 42 pages pe
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

36 pages per day on average

Step-by-step explanation:

Calculate the average.

3 * 28 (The first 3 days of the week where Mike reads 28 pages per day) = 84

4 * 42 (The next 4 days where Mike reads 42 pages per day ) = 168

168 + 84 = 252

To find the average using this total, divide it by the total amount of days of reading (seven days in this problem).

252 / 7 = 36

the length of a rectangle is 2 inches less than 3 times it width . The perimeter of the rectangle is 124 inch. WHat is the lengt
vitfil [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

let w = width

length = 3w-2

perimeter = 2*length + 2*width

perimeter = 2(3w-2) + 2w

perimeter = 6w - 4 + 2w

perimeter = 8w - 4

perimeter = 124 inch

8w - 4 = 124inch

+4 to each side

8w = 128inch

divide each side by 8

w = 16

length = 3w-2

           = 3(16) - 2

length = 46 inch
