To solve for k, you first need to distribute the 4 to k+3.

4= 4(k+3)= (4*k)+(4*3)= 4k+12

Then you subtract over any constants:

4-12=4k+12-12

And divide out the 4 to isolate the variable:

-8/4 = 4k/4

k=-2

-2=k is the answer. You need to get the expression by its self so you divid by 4 and subtract 3

No, it should not give exactly the right amount because numbers will have to be rounded because US dollars only go to the hundredths place making the final number slightly different than the exact value would be.

-5g-3/h-3 + 7g+9/h-3 find the sum
Licemer1 [7]
-5g - 3/h-3 + 7g +9/h-3 = -5g + 7g -3/h-3 + 9/h-3 = 2g + (9 - 3)/(h-3) =
= 2g + 6/(h-3) if we want it as one fraction it would be:

2g + 6/(h-3) = [2g(h-3) + 6]/(h-3) = \frac{2gh - 6gh + 6}{h-3}
