The Byzantine Empire gave the Russian Empire the religion of Eastern Orthodox Christianity do to the inspiration the Russian Czar had recieved when he heard of the Byzantine empires famous religious building the Hagia Sophia. The Russian title of Czar was also derived from the rulers of the Byzantine empire who at the time were labeled as "Caesar". Most of the Russian architecture that we can see today has been derived from Byzantine architecture like the building in Instanbul called The Hagia Sophia as I mentioned earlier.
