Answer:Your thermostat is set at a certain temperature and is responsible for maintaining that temperature throughout the house. It will turn on heat or cooling in order to reach that temperature. Once it has reached the optimal temperature, a negative feedback mechanism allows the thermostat to turn off the air in order to maintain that temperature.
