8 oz = 184 mg of caffeine
12 oz = 1/5 of 184 mg of caffeine

Let's say 12oz is x:

x = 184 * 1/5       or       x = 184 / 5
x= 36,8
x = 37                 (after rounding to the nearest whole number)

Answer: There are about 37 mg of caffeine in a 12 oz soft drink.

Answer:

Let x be the quantity of caffeine in 12 oz of soft drink (in mg )

Given,

The quantity of caffeine in 8 oz cup of coffee = 184 mg,

According to the question,

5 times of x =  caffeine in 8 oz cup of coffee,

⇒ 5x = 184

Which is the required equation,

By solving it,

x=\frac{184}{5}

⇒ x = 36.8 ≈ 37,

Thus, the caffeine in 12 oz of soft drink is 37 mg.

The least common multiple of 9, 3, and 18 is 18.

Convert 1/9 to 2/18.

Convert 2/3 to 12/18.

Then add the numerators:

2 + 12 + 5 = 19

So the answer is 19/18, or 1 1/18 if you prefer.

Reil [10]

Answer:

a. 0.6

b. 0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A be the event that student takes algebra and C be the event that student takes Calculus 3.

P(A)=0.60

P(C)=0.5

P(A and C)=0.30

a.

We have to find P(A/C).

P(A/C)=P(A and C)/P(C)=0.3/0.5=0.6

Thus, if someone took Calculus 3, the probability that he/she took Linear Algebra too is 0.6 or 60%

b.

We have to find P(C/A)

P(C/A)=P(A and C)/P(A)=0.3/0.6=0.5

Thus, if someone took Linear Algebra, the probability that he/she took Calculus 3 too is 0.5 or 50%
