The difference between both terms lies in the following:

the concept of news gives name to the content of information that has never been communicated before. In other words, the news constitutes new knowledge or knowledge. In most cases the news is disseminated by large media, so these media are the ones that decide to do enfacis in the different crimes, in the criminals and in the situation in which it occurred. In some cases they highlight a particular situation or a given data.

On the other hand the statistical reports, are real data that were prosed by a scientific method and are representative of the reality objectives
