Leptin is a chemical messenger which is secreted by fat cells that act as an appetite suppressant. 

Leptin is a hormone of energy expenditure. It is made of adipose cells and helps to regulate energy balance by way of inhibiting hunger.

Both hormones they act as receptors in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus. When someone is obesity, the sensitivity to leptin decreases.
