I'm not familiar with this notation, but believe it means that you are to reflect point P over the line y=1.  If you were reflecting P over the x-axis (line y=0), the result would be (-2,-7).  However, you are to reflect P over the line y=1.  The y-coordinate of (-2,7) is 7, which is (7-1), or 6, units above the line y=1.  So, going in the other direction (reflecting P in y=1), you count 6 units down from y=1.  Note how 1 + 6 = 7 units.  New coordinates are (-2,-6).

What is the slope to this graph????
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

Slope is 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope formula:

y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

Get any two points.

(70,20) (40,0)

So,

0 - 20 / 40 - 70

-20 / -30

-2 / -3

2/3

The probability of drawing 2 defective pieces one after the other on the first and second samples, without replacement, from a l
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer: The required probability is 0.004.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of pieces = 50

Number of defective pieces = 5

So, we need to draw 2 defective pieces.

So, the probability of drawing 2 defective pieces one after the other on the first and second samples would be

\dfrac{5}{50}\times \dfrac{4}{49}\\\\=\dfrac{20}{2450}\\\\=0.004

Hence, the required probability is 0.004.

Which statement accurately describes the data's form, direction, and strength from the scatterplot below?
barxatty [35]

Answer:

Form: Linear Direction: Positive Strength: Moderate

Step-by-step explanation:

The scatter plot for the Cost of Airplane Ticket versus the number of Miles Flown is attached below.

It can be easily seen that the plot is moving in an upward directions. An upward moving scatter plot represents a positive relationship between the two variables.

Similarly, the scatter plot here represents a positive relationship between cost of airplane ticket and the number of miles flown.

Now consider the points plotted on the graph.

If we form a line of best by joining any two points it can be seen that the rest of the points are close to this line but not very close.

Thus, implying that there is a moderately strong relationship between the two variables.

Thus, the statement accurately describing the data is:

Form: Linear Direction: Positive Strength: Moderate

Fifty randomly selected individuals were timed completing a tax form. The samplemean was 23.6 minutes; the sample standard devia
loris [4]

Answer:

The 99% confidence interval for the mean time required by all individuals to compete the form is between 17.168 minutes and 30.032 minutes.

Step-by-step explanation:

The first step to solve this problem is finding how many degrees of freedom, we have. This is the sample size subtracted by 1. So

df = 50 - 1 = 49

Now, we have to find a value of T, which is found looking at the t table, with 49 degrees of freedom(y-axis) and a confidence level of 0.99(t_{99}). So we have T = 2.68

The margin of error is:

M = T*s = 2.68*2.4 = 6.432.

In which s is the standard deviation of teh sample. So

The lower end of the interval is the sample mean subtracted by M. So it is 23.6 - 6.432 = 17.168 minutes

The upper end of the interval is the sample mean added to M. So it is 23.6 + 6.432 = 30.032 minutes

The 99% confidence interval for the mean time required by all individuals to compete the form is between 17.168 minutes and 30.032 minutes.
