The forces that undermine a beautiful soul or character are the forces of desire and aversion. These two forces can change the nature of man. If these forces are kept in check by a sound moral code or a strongly founded touchstone, a character can be preserved. For the slightest inclination to the desire, a beautiful soul can be fully corrupted.
