The Founding Fathers believed that an independent judiciary was extremely  important due to the fact they strongly believed in the Separation of Powers. Not only that but they didn't want either the executive branch or Congress to gain too much power and become tyrannical.

Answer and explanation: The framers in United States of America believed that all the parts of government or the divisions of government should be separated and allowed to work independently without interference of any other branch. We know that there are three main divisions of US government, Judiciary, legislative and executive branches. If they were not separated they might have poked into each other's business. Although, a system of check and balance was introduced in order to diminish corrupt practices.

vitfil [10]

Think of it like this, say your little brother got angry at your youngest brother and hit him. Then your mother and father get mad at you for starting it. This is what Germany felt after WW1. This sowed bitterness into German society, and with Hitler on the stage. It turned into obsessive hatred. Soon people had differing opinions, and they turned radical fast during the Great Depression. As someone did say. "I am more afraid of peace, than war."

What concession did Grant make to Lee in his terms of surrender?
Triss [41]
The Confederates are essentially called "rebels" by the fact that they broke away from the union to make their own Sovereign state, namely the Confederate States of America. So during the talks of surrender, Grant made a generous offer. He offered that Lee and his men would NOT be tried for treason under the condition that they turn in their arms. He also allowed them to keep their personal belongings which in a situation such as this, a betrayal of a Union, is almost unheard of. This allowed Lee's men to return home and work on the rebuilding of the South without any fear of repraisal.
