During exercise, protein synthesis in muscle cells stops. After exercise, protein synthesis starts again and contributes to the
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

D. 4E-BP1 binding to elF4E prevents loading of the mRNA onto the ribosome.

Explanation

In eukaryotic organisms, the eIF4E translation initiation factor functions by directing the ribosomes to the 5'-terminal cap structure of the messenger RNA (mRNA) in order to start the translation. Moreover, phosphorylation is a posttranslational modification of specific amino acids on proteins that play diverse cellular functions by altering protein stability, location, and/or enzymatic activity. It has been shown that elF4E phosphorylation is increased in response to cellular stimuli that induce translation in the ribosomes (e.g., growth factors, hormones, etc). The eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E)-binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) is a repressor of mRNA translation which is phosphorylated and inactivated by growth factors and hormones, thereby inhibiting 4E-BP1 binding to elF4E and consequently activating translation.

HELP!! The figure below shows ocean currents. Where will climate change slow the currents the most, causing colder temperatures,
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

Along the Kuroshio Current, because it is carrying water north towards melting ice caps

Explanation:

The ocean currents have the tendency to be faster when they are warmer, and to be slower when they are colder. The reason for this is that the warmer water is less dense, thus it can move more quickly, while the colder water is denser, thus heavier, so it moves slower. The Kuroshio Current moves from the lower latitudes toward the higher latitudes. As it does, this ocean current is becoming colder and colder as it gets closer to the higher latitudes, so it is becoming denser, heavier, and because of it slower. Another thing that will contribute to this current's slowing down are the melting ice caps because of the climate change, as they will make the water even colder, and the Kuroshio Current will come across this cold water, so it will decrease its speed significantly.

__________ often causes slow movements and loss of sense of balance.
Montano1993 [528]
Depressants often cause slow movements and loss of sense of balance. These chemical substances reduce the speed and ability of neurotransmitters to communicate. Included in this category of substances are opioids, alcohol and marijuana related products. Pharmacological-related substances are sleeping pills and pain relievers, to help aid sleep and relax muscles.

melamori03 [73]

The reason why I think these fossils are more common fossils than those of soft tissues or microorganisms one reason is that soft tissues decompose better than bone which gives more time for them to be buried.
