Answer:

False.

Explanation:

The lungs are a pair of pyramid shaped organs which are in between the trachea and the left bronchi and connected to both. The diaphragm is a little above them. The lungs are enclosed by the pleurae which are together with the mediastinum. The mesothelial cells which belong to the pleural membrane, make pleural fluid that can work as a lubricant to reduce friction when breathing and as an adhesive to hold the lungs to the thoracic wall which is meant to facilitate the position and movement of the lungs during ventilation.

Answer:

False

Explanation

The lungs are two in number and is the main organ for respiration in the body.

The thorax is also known as the chest. It has various parts attached to it such as the heart, lungs, thymus etc.

The mesothelial cells of the pleural membrane create pleural fluid which serves two purposes:

Lubrication

Attachment of the lungs to the thorax aren’t hereby done by the smooth muscles of the lungs.

Identify the role the evaporution and condensation play in earths water cycle
Tanzania [10]
Evaporation and condensation play major roles in the Earth's water cycle and how it functions. When water evaporates from the ocean due to the sun's energy, it rises in the air and condenses as clouds. Wind carries these clouds over land and eventually these cloud condense more by starting to rain. Once the rain falls, it runs off, and some/most of it returns back to the ocean, where the cycle repeats again. Hope this helps!

A research biologist is studying cells from a new organism recently discovered in the Brazilian rainforest. She determines that
Andrew [12]

Answer:

32 possible combination of chromosome

Explanation:

According to the law of independent assortment as proposed by Mendel, alleles of a gene will separate into gamete independently of the alleles of another gene. Since this organism contains 10 chromosomes in its somatic cell, it will undergo meiosis to produce half number of chromosomes in its gametes i.e. 5 chromosomes.

If we know the haploid number of chromosomes of an organism i.e. n, we can calculate the possible combination of chromosomes that will be present in its gametes as a result of independent assortment during meiosis using the formula:

2^n, where n= haploid no. of chromosome

If n is 5 chromosome in this case, the possible combination of chromosome in its gametes will be 2^5 = 32. Hence, as a result of independent assortment, an organism with 10 chromosome in its somatic cell will produce 32 possible combinations of chromosome in its gametes.
