Divine RIght or the divine right of kings as the name suggests is the belief that a King is pre-ordained to become king or inherit the throne when the present king is no more. This system was based on the assumption that the kings were appointed by God.

This system favored the monarchs as their children were already kings before they were born and they could hold onto power for a very long time

Some of the strengths of Divine Right was that they could do things quicker, create laws without the hassle or vetting of a council or parliament and also as a result, decisions are made quickly.
