The linear least squares regression will have a slope of:

m=(nΣxy-ΣxΣy)/(nΣx^2-ΣxΣx)

m=(5*2078-30*281)/(5*220-30*30)

m=1960/200

m=9.8

and a y-intercept of:

b=(Σy-mΣx)/n

b=(281-9.8*30)/5

b=-2.6

So the line of best fit is:

y=9.8x-2.6

Solve for b A= \frac{a+b}{2}
lina2011 [118]
A = (a+b)/2
2*A = 2*(a+b)/2 ... multiply both sides by 2
2A = a+b
2A-a = a+b-a ... subtract 'a' from both sides to isolate b
2A-a = b
b = 2A-a

Answer: b = 2A-a

Can you think of three examples of real world parallel and/or perpendicular lines? Explain why they are important in the real-wo
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer: The road, crucifix/cross, sidewalks, railroads, and so much more.

Step-by-step explanation: Roads are parallel so that everyone can get to the same place in different lanes. This is important because lines that aren't parallel will inevitably meet, meaning that a highway would eventually merge its two lanes. This happens, but most of the highway is parallel. The same is true of sidewalks and railroads. The crucifix/cross is a Christian symbol, and while I'm not Christian, I'm sure it's important to a lot of people who are.

Solve the equation. Show all of your work. 1/59X + 60) = 2/3x- 2
vivado [14]

Step-by-step explanation:

1/5x+60=2/3x-2

subtract 1/5x from 2/3x

when you do that you should get 0.46x repeating

then you add two to 60

you should get 62

62=0.46x

divide x

you get 134.7

Round Ed to the nearthest tenth and answer now question
Vikki [24]

Answer:

y = 9.1

Step-by-step explanation:

y can be found using the Law of sines as explained below:

m < Y = 106°

m < X = 58°

WY = x = 8

WX = y = ?

Thus,

\frac{x}{sin(X)} = \frac{y}{sin(Y)}

\frac{8}{sin(58)} = \frac{y}{sin(106)}

\frac{8}{0.848} = \frac{y}{0.961}

Multiply both sides by 0.961 to solve for y

\frac{8}{0.848}*0.961 = \frac{y}{0.961}*0.961

\frac{8*0.961}{0.848} = y

\frac{8*0.961}{0.848}*0.961 = y

9.07 = y

y = 9.1 (to the nearest tenth)
