Just ignore the decimals, act like it’s saying

2008
x306
____
614,448

Once you get your answer which is 615,448, you count how many places left the decimals go, then you add them both together, so 3.06 has two decimal places, and 2.008 has three, In total you have 5. Now you take your 614,448 and move your decimal from right to left five places...

Your answer is 6.14448

I’m sorry if this is confusing, I tried to put it as simply as possible, this is how I do it and it always works...

cheers!

Write each expression as a product of linear factors 1. X^2+1/2x 2. X^2+2x-3 3. (2x-3)^2 4. X^3+2x^2-19x-20
Grace [21]

Answer:

1. X^2+1/2x = x(x+\frac{1}{2})

2.  X^2+2x-3 = (x-1)(x+3)

3. (2x-3)^2 = (2x-3)(2x-3)

4. X^3+2x^2-19x-20 = (x+1)(x-4)(x+5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Each expression can be written as a product of linear factors as follows

1. X^2+1/2x ⇒ x^{2} + \frac{1}{2}x

x^{2} + \frac{1}{2}x = x(x+\frac{1}{2})

Hence,  X^2+1/2x = x(x+\frac{1}{2})

2. X^2+2x-3 ⇒ x^{2} +2x-3

x^{2} +2x-3 = x^{2} +3x-x-3

x^{2} +3x-x-3 = x(x+3) -1(x+3)

x(x+3) -1(x+3) = (x-1)(x+3)

Hence,  X^2+2x-3 = (x-1)(x+3)

3. (2x-3)^2 ⇒(2x-3)^{2}

(2x-3)^{2} = (2x-3)(2x-3)

Hence, (2x-3)^2 = (2x-3)(2x-3)

4. X^3+2x^2-19x-20 ⇒ x^{3}+2x^{2} -19x -20

x^{3}+2x^{2} -19x -20 = (x+1)(x^{2} +x-20)

First,

x^{2} +x-20 = x^{2} +5x-4x-20\\x^{2} +5x-4x-20= x(x+5)-4(x+5)\\x(x+5)-4(x+5) = (x-4)(x+5)

∴ (x+1)(x^{2} +x-20) = (x+1)(x-4)(x+5)

Hence, X^3+2x^2-19x-20 = (x+1)(x-4)(x+5)

How do you make a parabola?
sleet_krkn [62]
Make an equation where

Y =
(any number not zero) times X² + (any number at all) times X + (any number at all)

The graph of that equation is guaranteed to be a parabola.

How can I express this as a single power with positive exponents?
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

5^1

Step-by-step explanation:

\sqrt{5} =5^{\frac{1}{2} } (law of indices - fractional powers)

after converting all the numbers to this form:

\frac{5^{{\frac{2}{3} } } * 5^{\frac{1}{2} } }{5^{\frac{1}{6} } } \\

combine using law of indices:

5^(2/3+1/2-1/6) = 5^1
