Write 7x-y=8 in the form of y=my+b
PIT_PIT [208]

I'm going to assume that you meant y = mx + b not y = my + b

To do this move 7x to the right side by subtracting it to both sides

(7x - 7x) - y = 8 - 7x

0 - y = 8 -7x

-y = 8 - 7x

Y still isn't full isolated! There is still the negative sign that you have to get rid of. To do this divide -1 to both sides

-y/-1 = (8 - 7x)/ -1

y = -8 + 7x

y = 7x - 8

Hope this helped!

A paper company needs to ship paper to a large printing business. The paper will be shipped in small boxes and large boxes. The
Tanzania [10]

x+y=23 and 10x+24y=426 can be used to determine the number of small and large boxes shipped where x represents the number of small boxes and y represent the number of large boxes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Volume of small box = 10 cubic feet

Volume of large box = 24 cubic feet

Total boxes shipped = 23

Combined volume = 426 cubic feet

Let,

x represent the number of small boxes.

y represent the number of large boxes.

x+y=23

10x+24y=426

x+y=23 and 10x+24y=426 can be used to determine the number of small and large boxes shipped where x represents the number of small boxes and y represent the number of large boxes.

An isosceles right triangle has leg lengths of 4 centimeters. What is the length of the altitude drawn from the right angle to t
tester [92]
The hypotenuse of this triangle is 4Sqrt(2) from the Special Triangles you study.
The altitude is also 2Sqrt(2) because the altitude is an angle bisector of the 90 degree angle which bisects the hypotenuse, and the other 2 angles of the large right triangle are 45 degrees.

Given f(x) = 2x and<br> g(x) = x2+3 , find f(g(x)).
Nimfa-mama [501]

I'm assuming for g(x) you mean g(x) = x^2+3 for g(x)=x^2+3.

Going with that...

    \begin{aligned}f(g(x)) &= f\left( x^2+3 \right)~~~~~\text{plug $x^2+3$ in for $x$ in $f(x)$}\\[0.5em]&= 2\cdot ( x^2+3 )~~~~~\text{so $2x$ became $2(x^2+3)$}\\[0.5em]&= 2x^2+6\endaligned}

Just treat the enter g(x) function as a single input for f(x).
