During the GIlded Age, the railroad industry was the only industry in which there was a successful government effort to regulate. There were many setbacks due to the influence of wealthy railroad tycoons on government officials, in all areas including the Supreme Court, but ultimately the Interstate Commerce Act was passed.

The government barely regulated any businesses during the Gilded Age.

Option B

Does symbolic interactionsim make sense? How?
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

Yes, symbolic interactionism makes sense because we create fluid, changing meanings for symbols and objects given what we experience every day.

Explanation:

Symbolic interactionism is a framework for understanding how society is maintained in the relationship between individuals. Through interactions like conversation, cohabitating, and working together, people recreate meanings that they share.  This amounts to shared understanding and interpretations that help to flesh out the social context we each live in. Thus, our natural and symbolic environments are made sense of through interaction and behavior that give meaning to objects and concepts. Putting your thumb up to mean yes is an example of symbolic interactionism that has come to mean more in this day and age because of the likes on social media.

If steel is more dense than lake water, why can a boat float?
jeka57 [31]

Answer: The average density of the boat, including the steel and air, is less dense than 1.00 g/cm³.

Explanation: The Archimedes rule of  ''the floating of an object'' states that the amount of water displaced by an object placed in the water has to be big enough to allow the object to float.

Since a good part of the boat's inside contains air, it means that the combination of steel and air is light compared to the average density of water and it causes the boat to float.
