X/3 = 3 1/4

Multiply 3 to both sides:

x = 3 1/4 * 3

Convert 3 1/4 into an improper fraction:

x = 13/4 * 3

Multiply 3 to the numerator and keep the denominator:

x = 39/4

Convert to a mixed number:

x = 9 3/4

Can someone help me with this question "Given the triangle below, what is m (angle) < B, rounded to the nearest tenth?
JulsSmile [24]
The answer
the sum of the angles in a triangle is always 180°
m < B + m < A + m < C = 180°,
let's find m < B,
by applying sinus rule
 14/sinB=10/sinC, so sinB= 10xsinB = 14 x sinC and therefore,
sinB=( 14/10 )sinC =7/2 sin 36° =0.82, so arcsinB=55.08°
the answer is C 55.4°

Law Incorporation [45]
Here's how you simplify those. The rule for raising an exponent to an exponent is that you multiply them. The rule for dividing exponents with the same base is that you subtract the denomonator from the numerator.  So let's simplify the first one, which is actually the most confusing.
( \frac{ p^{5} }{ p^{-3} q^{-4}  } )^{ \frac{1}{4} }
Multiplying the exponents you get:
( \frac{ p^{ \frac{5}{4} } }{ p^{- \frac{3}{4} }  q^{-1} })
Subtracting the denominator from the numerator between the common base of p you get this:
\frac{ p^{ \frac{5}{4}- (-\frac{3}{4})  } }{ q^{-1} }
Doing that math gives you
\frac{ p^{2} }{ \frac{1}{q} } which equals \frac{ p^{2} }{1} * \frac{q}{1} which is p^{2}q, or the third one down.

The next one:
( \frac{ p^{2} q^{7}  }{ q^{4} } )^{ \frac{1}{2} }
simplifies to:
\frac{p* q^{ \frac{7}{2} } }{ q^{2} }
and subtracting the power of the denominator from the power of the numerator gives you:
p q^{ \frac{3}{2} }, which is the last choice.
( p^{6}q \frac{3}{2})^{ \frac{1}{3} }
simplifies to:
( p^{6* \frac{1}{3} } )( q^{ \frac{3}{2}* \frac{1}{3}  })
which simplifies very nicely to:
p^{2}q^{ \frac{1}{2} }, which is the first choice. The other one is found by process of elimination!

Victoria is making tofu burgers for a party burgers for a party. Each tofu burger requires 1/3 pound of tofu. She wants to make
kap26 [50]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  • 5 containers
  • 1/3 pound left over

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount Victoria needs is ...

  (1/3 lb/burger) × 14 burgers = (1/3)(14) lb = 4 2/3 lb

The next higher multiple of 1 lb is 5 lb.

Victoria needs to buy 5 containers of tofu. There will be 1/3 lb left over.

Why is it important to measure perimeter and area
blagie [28]

Perimeter and area are two important and fundamental mathematical topics. They help you to quantify physical space and also provide a foundation for more advanced mathematics found in algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. Perimeter is a measurement of the distance around a shape and area gives us an idea of how much surface the shape covers.

Knowledge of area and perimeter is applied practically by people on a daily basis, such as architects, engineers, and graphic designers, and is math that is very much needed by people in general. Understanding how much space you have and learning how to fit shapes together exactly will help you when you paint a room, buy a home, remodel a kitchen, or build a deck.

Aleksandr-060686 [28]

36 students have traveled outside of the United States, when there are total 120 sixth graders.

<u><em>Explanation</em></u>

The number of students traveled outside of the United States is 9 when there is total 30 sixth graders. So, the ratio of the student traveled to the total students will be 9: 30 = 3: 10

Now there are total of 120 sixth graders in the school and lets assume the number of students traveled outside the United states is x . That means the ratio...

x: 120 = 3:10 \\ \\ \frac{x}{120}=\frac{3}{10}  \\ \\ 10x=360\\ \\ x=\frac{360}{10} \\ \\ x= 36

So, 36 students have traveled outside of the United States.
