When solving a math question, we need to follow PEDMAS
Parenthesis
Exponents
Division/Mulitplication
Addition/Subtraction

Example:
$2*3^2-4/(8+2(2))$
Simplify the Parenthesis.
$=2*3^2-4/(8+4)$
$=2*3^2-4/(12)$
Evaluate the Exponents.
$=2*9-4/(12)$
Multiply/Divide from left to right.
$=18-1/3$
$=54/3-1/3$
$=53/3$
