PLEASE HELP!!!!
nikdorinn [45]

Answer: 1. The three stages of information processing in the acquisition of memory are encoding, storage, and retrieval.

2. Part of the several ways that we forget things in our memory are (i) ineffective coding and (ii) fading

3. mnemonic is a device or tools that aids in memorizing some information in form of scripts, long list of items, speeches.

Explanation:

1. When one is reading a story in a magazine, the information would pass through these three stages, Encoding, Storage, and Retrieval by first encoding it. what this means is that the information will first be processed in the form of pictures to the brain for one to understand what the information means. Then the pictures of the information would then be stored in the memory so that it can be produced when necessary. The pictures in the memory from the story in the magazine would then be retrieved whenever it is needed after reading the magazine so that the reader can paint a picture of the story read from the magazine.

2. The causes for these type of forgetting can be seen in situations like ineffective coding, for example when one is encoding information from a story and one is distracted by other things by not paying exclusive attention to the information would cause ineffective coding and one would not be able to retrieve the information accurately when needed. Also when information stored in the memory over time tends to fade away as time passes by and this would result in a forgotten memory. for example when one reads a magazine on procedures or techniques of doing a particular act, if one does not put into practice, it would fade off from the memory and one will not be able to retrieve such information from the memory.

3. The method of Loci mnemonic is used to memorize a long list that one does not want to forge. it is a form of memory device that helps in remembering information and be able to retrieve it when necessary. It can be used to memory scripts, a long list of items or speeches. To use the method of loci mnemonic to memorize a long list of items, one needs to paint a picture of the items and store it in the memory so that it can be retrieved in picture format and this aids the memory to remember a long list.
