<span><span>100x=83.3333333...
10x= 8.3333333...

Then subtract these formulas since you already KNOW that x is the same in both equations. Using 100x and 10x you get the exact same repeating decimal, but the decimal gets subtracted out therefore simplfying the equation greatly:

90x=75

To solve this equation, divide both sides by 90 and you get:
x=75/90

Simplfy: x=5/6</span></span>

Let <span>x=0.8<span>¯3</span></span>

Then <span>10x=8.<span>¯3</span></span>

So <span><span>(10x−x)</span>= 8.3333<span>¯3</span></span>

<span>bbnnn.nnnnnnnbb<span><span>0.8333<span>¯3</span>−</span><span>−−−−−−−−−</span></span></span> Subtracting

<span>bbbbb.bbbbbbbbb7.5</span>

<span> 9x=7.5</span>

Multiply both sides by 10

<span> 90x=75</span>

Divide both sides by 90

<span> x=<span>75/90</span>=<span>5/6</span></span>

<span>SOO x=0.8<span>¯3</span>=  <span><span>5/6</span></span></span>

<span><span><span>
</span></span></span>

<span><span><span>SO 5/6 is your answer HOPE I HELPED!!!!!!!!!!</span></span></span>

Maria will spin the arrow on the spinner 2 times. What is the probability that the arrow will stop on the same letter twice? 19
gavmur [86]
Suppose the spinner lands on <em>a</em>.  There's a 1/3 chance that it'll land on <em>a</em> the second time.
Suppose the spinner lands on <em>b</em>.  There's a 1/3 chance that it'll land on <em>b</em> the second time.
Suppose the spinner lands on <em>c</em>.  There's a 1/3 chance that it'll land on <em>c</em> the second time.

We've covered all possibilities for the first spin, and they're all equal, so their average is 1/3.

The probability that it'll land on the same letter twice is 33.3%.
